we drove off to petronas station in usj 9 to buy car battery water.and cigarettes for my dad.finally we managed to get home.  but i guess the battery fried.

Should same sex marriage be legalized?

The definition of the word marriage describes the legal union between a man and a woman becoming husband and wife, while the term spouse refers to a person of the opposite sex who is either the husband or wife. Homosexual marriage is defined as the union of two different individuals who are of the same biological sex or gender. Homosexual marriage has been a widely debated issue that has generated controversy worldwide. There have been many incidents, cases, suggestions, religious viewpoints, laws as well as political issues that have revolved around this much discussed issue. Same sex marriage is a very tricky issue and it treads a sensitive line that has created conflict in nations around the world. There have been organizations who oppose the idea of legalizing same sex marriages but also undoubtedly there have been those set up by conservative and liberal groups alike who strongly oppose any such union. Same sex marriages are currently recognized in fourteen countries Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Australia, Finland, France, Iceland, Israel, Denmark, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Sweden and the United Kingdom as well as varying degrees of benefits in less conclusive relationships worldwide. While same sex marriages may have emerged from the shadows of our society, they should strictly not be legalized in any shape or form due to the many ethical and religious problems that occur as well as the safety and well being of children adopted during such marriages.

Same sex marriage opens up a vastly dangerous Pandora’s box which includes the likes of polygamy, incestual relationships and even pedophilia. The very essence of marriage is to promote stability, commitment, and responsibility in heterosexual relationships but in the case of same sex marriages, even the very foundations are rocked. Having and raising children in a marriage is a common and normal tradition of marriage but how would this be safely effective in a same sex marriage? Legalized gay or lesbian families who may legally adopt a child will cause a severely disruptive and troubled childhood for the child or children involved. It is simply unhealthy and unfair for a child to be brought up in such a disruptive household where the wrong ethical choices are taught to them at a young age. Representatives from conservation organizations such as Washington D.C.’s Family Research Council, the Liberty Legal Institute in Piano, Texas, emphasized that it is in the best interest of the children involved to be raised by both a mother and a father, and that society as a whole will benefit from maintaining the definition of a family that consists of a mother, father and their children. As stated by Robert H. Knight and Daniel S. Garcia, of the Family Research Council.

Homosexual marriages should not be legalized in any shape or form due to it’s many contradictions with the majority of religions that exist in today’s world. Same sex marriages are by no means encouraged in religion but almost always condemned. Same sex marriages do not fulfill any pro-creational role or any form of benefit to the continued existence of mankind. These sort of marriage sanctions a partnership that is centered around several unethical acts that the majority of world’s religions prohibit strictly. Religion in general also notes that love is a principal virtue of a fundamentally strong relationship with a man and a woman, having a male to male legalized marriage crosses a serious line and does not fundamentally make sense. In addition to it’s moral condemnations, the “Christian right characterizes homosexuality as a chosen behavior than a trait that cannot be easily changed. Religious affiliation is clearly a chosen identity. For evangelical protestants, this is nowhere more evident that in need to be born again, a freely chosen commitment to Jesus. If the religious are rightly afforded constitutional protection, why must lesbians and gay men prove genetic causation to create the same?” This clear and concise point by Didi Herman of The Antigay Agenda clearly states the obvious that gay men and lesbians serve no real purpose in the continuation of our society as we know it but yet by giving them a legalized status as well as protection under the Constitution of the United States. Christianity is not the only religion in focus, the Buddhist Holy Scripture also goes to great lengths to ensure that homosexual marriage and relationships are not to be practiced, the very same goes for Islam, another major religion in our world today. With so many millions of people who belong to major religions around the world, what would our world collapse to if same sex marriages were to be legalized? Serious consequences and questions would arise that our society simply isn’t prepared for, so for that reason it should not be legalized.
