The Magical Emcees. |
February 7, 2010 |
Good day folks. I just got home from a rather exciting and memorable night being the emcee of one of daddy’s company’s annual dinner alongside with the Keeper. Dad came up to the both of us one night, on Wednesday I think; saying both of you are gonna be the emcee for the dinner,go prepare yourself and nail it.
Knowing ourselves,we spent the past two nights just sleeping the night away after a good round of spicy pan mee for dinner; and just enjoying the usual simple nights chilling out.
Hence the panic attack earlier today, because we were so inverted commas-ly confident in our chemistry wtf thats obviously a joke. I mean its an absolutely normal sight to see me teasing the Keeper like boy you’re so handsome you make all the flowers around you die.
Read on about some of the highlights from tonight.
- The night started off with us introducing ourselves and I threw him a “Why so serious?” statement up on stage.
- We took turns to give away the lucky draw prizes which every single staff walked away with those big ass hampers ala Chinese New Year. Since this isn’t my dad’s main company,I could barely recall the names of the staffs but I think we pulled it off pretty well.
- According to the Keeper, my smile alone can zap them off their seats wtf. Can’t deny that did help motivated me quite a bit. For all you know,it was said solely for motivation purpose.
- Called five volunteers up on stage for the game which gives away a big fat Ang Pow. My trick was to point at the table and go “That handsome man over at that table, come on up here!”. It worked, half the table got up.
- There was also this game of choosing the best Michael Jackson’s dance impersonator where they have this dance off and the winner’s judged by the round of applause from the crowd. Thus,I named him our very own Michael Jackson!
- I had two performances, belted out Everything I do,I do It For You by daddy’s request and From This Moment specially dedicated to you know who. It wasn’t easy emceeing, collaborating the games & lucky draw and perform songs at the same time.
- Chances of smacked in your face public embarrassment is highly unavoidable.
What makes it worst when its in front of more than 100 people who knows you ass the Boss’s daughter. - Look at my avid Manchester United fan boyfriend, Man Utd thrashed Portsmouth 5-0 by the way.
He was excused from dressing for the occasion because poor boy was heading down to JB for a futsal tournament first thing tomorrow morning.
Thats a wrap for my experience co-emceeing with the Keeper; I love how fun and cool we look together up on stage. Oh don’t get me wrong with that statement, its just the beauty of not taking yourselves so seriously.
I definitely enjoyed myself, with a pat on the back well done while the boyfriend is probably dreading the main company’s annual dinner three weeks from now.
Its 3.23am at the moment on a Sunday morning. Dad’s in an extremely good mood (like duh!) so tomorrow should be quite an awesome day spent with family preparing for the upcoming Chinese New Year.
Next week’s Valentine’s would be our fifth Valentine’s Day spent together, only this time we’re miles apart but I guess everyday should be like Valentine’s right?
Have a great weekend.
Much love,cheerios.
