The Future Within Reach.

March 7, 2010

Good day folks. The first week of classes has finally ended, was too caught up with reading on Friday & out the entire Saturday hence the delay. :| Studio assignments have kicked in,reading up the notes on Asian Architecture sent me to dreamland a couple of times; but I guess the most important thing about living is to find yourself loving what you do. For some reason I’m feeling a lot different this year, because it almost feels as if i’m living in my own crime of passion.

Picture taken via mobile; of my Friday evening reading with Brownthepom keeping a watchful eye on passerby’s wtf more like his hot girlfriend by the name Chelsea who lives down the row. :D

Don’t really camwhore that much anymore, the Keeper claimed that going finger-trigger happy is such a waste of time. Then I replied, well I get paid for doing what I love! :)

Saturday’s are usually the rewarding day of the week for myself when classes resumes because switching on the workaholic gear can be really scary at times; its like having a machine that runs all the time. I would say that I was feeling more under pressured last year because I had my priorities lying all over the place; and this year things just seem very much more reassured & solidified.

So back to what I was about to say about Saturdays. Well I have this weird way to driving myself up the wall, thriving to finish all the work; or rather allocating my Saturdays free to just do anything and eat everything wtf I’m just kidding. :| My point is, no matter how tough life can be; you have to find your own source of getaway or you can’t really claim that you’re really living.

So we had this conversation over lunch earlier today; about our plans together for the next couple of years. I know how conversations like this don’t usually pop up over lunch wtf who the hell would wanna risk ruining the rest of the day if the conversation ends badly right! :| Well, lucky for us; we actually enjoy talking about every part of it. :) There’s always this fine line between sharing the same dream & vision and having expectations about whats to come.

The Keeper mentioned about wanting to purchase our own home/house probably two years from now; which lead to a discussion about where we would prefer living in. I was obviously amused with the fact that he’s sounded so serious & keen about his future with me; but when the conversation lead on to the design of the house, I laughed so hard that I nearly fell off the chair wtf.

I’m easily amused.

So here’s our silly crazy ideas about what our home would be like:

  1. He wanted a balcony to smoke (NO WAY ALVIN LAM) and I wanted a walk-in closet with a ratio of me having 3/4 of the available space wtf. He doesn’t need to wear that much clothes. :D Damn imbalanced,I know.
  2. Since I’m gonna be the designer/contractor/painter/cleaner :| so I had to just get a list of design criteria which satisfies him. So awesome audio/visual room, a poker room(out of the question!), huge toilets to fit two users at one go wtf and the kitchen of course.
  3. He insisted that he’ll design the best kitchen(commercial kitchen designer) because he knows that I’m gonna be doing lots of cooking. Mind you,I can cook okay. ;)

I’m still amazed by how well I remember what we talked about. Probably its because these little talks mean the world to me; to gage where we are and where we will be. We’d be stupid to talk about this if you’ve not passed your third year relationship wtf. Anyway,we continued talking about how and what dinner would be like; he promised to eat everything even if I were to poison him with his knowledge!

  1. I said we’d have the electric mini-teppanyaki. Easily prepare fresh seafood like prawns, squids, slices of lamb & beef or even sausages; using minimal oil and wrap up the meal with some soup. No need for cooking, easy preparation, very little washing, and can cook together on the spot!
  2. Then probably buy the electric mini-steamboat pot to have either clear/tomyum soup, throwing in vegetables, seafood,or anything else to be served with rice. Can always opt for noodles! Once again, very little cooking, easy preparation & minimal washing!
  3. Pasta day, don’t need to mention how easy this would be.
  4. Baking the Salmon fish head, chicken wings, ikan pari with thai spicy sauce & much more. All you need is the oven.
  5. Two days of Chinese home-cooked food in a week, and two night outs! :)

Architects can cook, without a doubt.

As much as the future is unpredictable, your common goals and dreams will always be within reach. Our fifth & sixth year of this relationship shall be driven by those silly dreams; the thought of the Keeper knowing so sure about what he wants is probably one of the many reasons why I’m often so inspired.

People don’t change, people grow; and its the growth that we witness together which transcends that image of a partial-visible future.

I’d like to reach out to you loyal readers, your presence here has kept a good deal of money flowing into my bank’s savings account. I don’t need the money honestly, but whatever I earn here is moved into out joint-accounts (yes, since 2006!) to buy our home. Equal amount pumped in of course! :) Blogging has helped me in so many ways, I’m really thankful not having to be out and about as much as before because I realize that the consistency here is based on the life that revolves around my tiny life.
