Screw Maxis! |
March 18, 2010 |
Maxis has certainly done it again. After successfully terminating my final service with Maxis on 16th January, went to the Maxis centre to clear off the bill till it reached RM0.00. On that very same day, went to pick up and convert both numbers over to Digi which was activated within eight hours after transferring. So having the idea that there’s no further strings attached to Maxis, things were going great with Digi. First months’ bill was RM105 followed by RM82 this month.
Thanks Digi for the generous offer, an unlimited data usage for RM29 with no monthly charges; that explains my low bill amount combined with both my line & the Keeper‘s. Then came this RM61.80 bill from Maxis a week ago, apparently when I paid off my final bill to RM0.00 there were still unbilled charges wtf. Why couldn’t they just sum up the entire amount and make me pay it off all at one go? God knows where the RM61.80 came from!
Anyone facing a similar situation after converting from Maxis to Digi?
Below,was from the previous post.
Great day folks.
Its a great Monday till Maxis ruined my entire month in advance with a staggering bill which cost me RM1780 in exact for the month of December. Maxis has served me well in terms of customer service and coverage as a whole, but sadly to say, I’m bloody disappointed.
No offence to all Maxis users out there, but I guess this situation only happens if you happen to travel to different countries all at one go; without being informed that there’s an apparent different rate charges for different countries according to the respective countries’ rate. There were a couple of things which I’d like to highlight on,even if I could be wrong or a tad bit naive about it.
- What is the point of having a credit limit for postpaid lines if you don’t bar them when they’ve reached their limits; and instead they only bar the line when I reached Malaysian borders. By then, the figures was already at RM800-900 coming back from Taiwan.
- Fine, giving the benefit of the doubt; perhaps they have some policy to not bar their customers line in case of emergency.
- BUT,with their annoying smses which comes in whenever it changes to a new operating network; can’t they just take the courtesy to send one stupid sms that states that you’ve currently reached your credit limit? Or if that isn’t too much to ask for, don’t they have some kind of system that generates an sms when the customer has doubled their credit limit?
- Just cleared the entire bill at 1pm, its 7pm now; line is still unbarred.
I am now open to Digi or Celcom to grab me away with whatsoever awesome packages because I’ve always believed in service providers which has your best interest in mind. Why leave such a grey area, when you are so used to stating every damn detail in every bloody brochure or billboard all over the country? Maxis definitely has its pros with better reception & credibility to a certain extent; not gonna take that away from them. But I’m definitely done with Maxis; hopefully the money driven mentality of Malaysians would improve.
I’ve also been verbally harassed.
Not gonna make pointless accusations, but Maxis appointed this company called the Crust Management (M) Sdn Bhd to sort of collect debts. It states that they’re a private collection agency; and that they shall take all necessary steps to recover the total debt. All legal fees, costs and other incidental charges relating to the recovery of the debt shall be borne by yourself. I completely understand the legitimacy of this letter; but here’s something you should know.
I received this phone call from some nasty bitch which sounded very much like an educated loan shark. Perhaps Maxis’ whole idea of getting a proper company to collect debts, but I find it really unnecessary for the bitch to talk as if the figure was five digits (this was for some Maxis Broadband at RM200 which I also got conned into!)
There was this instance when the bitch called when I was in Taiwan; I picked up and told her I was overseas, call her the next day when I get home.
She insisted to fucking stay on the line, till I told her I’m sorry; are you gonna pay for my roaming charges?
I guess all manners goes out the window the moment its non-Maxis related?
Hopefully this will raise awareness about the issue of having grey areas in their policy, and did you know that you can’t even dial 123 for their customer service hotline when your line is barred?
Maxis,screw you; big time.
I hope this leaves a nice tattoo on your google page search.
I would appreciate comments for this one.

You’ve said it right! Its about time they changed their conniving ways!
Yeahhhhhhh we’re with you on this!
maxis screwed me over on the houseline before…in puchong the phones are under them. every month we pay. they restore the phone line but the bill comes back with the previous months it keeps stacking and they said we’ve paid n the paper bill wasn’t updated…..after 4 months of stacking which amounted to about 1.3k we went again…..then they said. we have no record and demanded we pay the full amount -____- ….some system they have. long ago. thought they’d have improved. you just proven me wrong
If you have been harassed, have you make a police report?
Roaming charges? Not informed? Let’s just call it your plain ignorance.
No matter which telco you switch to, you will face the same problem, trust me.
No, I don’t work for Maxis.
Well said
Hmm.. I kena once from maxis also. And I was not roaming! Bill went up to about RM600.. Bah!! And I am a direct debit account. Some more wanna bar. ish…
SCREW MAXIS UP ITS ASS!
Can you tell me who did your layout? I’ve been looking for one kind of like yours. Thank you.
omgosh rm 1.7k is extreme!
2 months back i had a prob with Maxis too. My bill went up to RM 100+ in a week time wtf (!!!) when i hardly use my maxis line since 90% off the time i use my Digi line (my maxis line is like a spare line) When called, they say i used gprs and dunno what crap which is totally bullshit since i never even activate my gprs nor even know how to use it T.T
My mum settled the bill anyway since i was in Melaka and couldn’t check on my credit statement.
But still…..:S

I had problem with maxis before, but the different thing was I am a prepaid user. They cutted off my services as the confusion of their 365day package,I then complained to the consumer tribunal, and they finally compensated me with a 3 yr of validity.
I suggest to compile a report to the consumer tribunal. It might get you with some appeasement.

I hope you’re not Captain Linger overseas!
Anyway Celcom is also very good at barring lines really quickly. I’m working on a project at work that has 3 lines (M-C-D) and the Celcom one is always first to randomly be barred!
I totally understand! I cancelled my maxis line too even tho i’ve been loyal to them for oh-my-god-uncountable-years! It’s bcoz they kept barring my line even tho i’ve paid and charged me unbarred fees d nx month..really wtf!
Hey. Celcom is having sales from now till 30th March. Good time to change to Celcom.
hey ellie. =]
sad to say.. i also kena con a few hundred bucks from maxis before for their wireless internet thing 2 years ago.
You might wanna look into digi anyways. I’m starting to trust them. more than m and c.
it’s all about the people behind the big desks.
Don’t bother switching to celcom. My dad who’s a loyal customer for say 14-15years had his line barred just when he went above his credit limit for the first time. no rewards for being so loyal. and there was no warning abt it! all service providers are the same…
It’s time to follow the Yellow Man. Digi’s better. But, next time u go out of country, just inform the telco, pay a bit more to your (future) bill, to avoid all the unnecessary hassle.
yes yes Digi FTW!
Maybe you can check out Digi Campus?
I’ve been on Digi since my first phone way back when I was in highschool and there’s no difference when it comes to the professional money collectors. As a matter of fact, I had a really rude indian guy, spoke to me like trying he wanted to get into a fight or something. In comparison, the “educated bitch” that called you seems pale.
All over a late RM100 payment.
If you must, move on to Digi, but don’t expect any company to be perfect la.
Hey Missy Cheerio,
I never knew such thing can ever happen at a well established company like Maxis. Thank you for the heads up, I would probably go nuts if this were to happen to me too.
Good luck in finding another line operator!
i share ur stroy via my FB….
i’m digi user….
I got that stupid letter thing also from Crust Management (M) Sdn Bhd and they say WE have to bear the legal fees etc nonsense.
the best part was, there’s this date when we need to clear up the sum which we owe them, and that date is one week from the date of that letter, and guess what, they post it thru normal post. I received that letter on the due date stated i need to clear the amount after i got back from work. I was furious!
2 months ago i barred my line cause my phone was lost. Went to maxis center at Pavilion, and paid RM10 to retrieve my sim and the fellow told me that the line will be activated in one hour time. But, after when i got home which was like 5 hours passed and tried to call, but it was still havent unbarred. and the 2 months from that day, i finally remember back the maxis line and tried to check again. and much to my disappointment, it was still barred. Damn it, i had to go back to the maxis center cuz i cant even dial any number. When i tried to ask the c.s.o., aand alot of troublesome produces needed. I just screwed them up cause i already paid the damn RM10!!! and finally got it back but need to wait another 1 hour. pttf
I am really sorry to hear this. On the technical aspect, I guess those working for Maxis are sleeping.
Next time, if going overseas, cepat-cepat get a prepaid number of that country. Like that can avoid all those roaming charges.
Knowing all these facts I can refuse to answer call when I’m overseas.
The important lesson is not to use your handphone while you are
overseas except for emergency calls.Even receiving calls from Malaysia
while you are overseas can be a trap cos some countries charges both
parties. It’s better to use IDD calls from hotel where you are given the rate charged.
Well, it’s sure an expensive lesson which many can learn from and not lets these
companies take us for a expensive ride.
i have the same prob whereby i just use maxis brodband for ony 1 mth.i didnt satisfied as the network coverage ws not good.i did called and inform them but they never take any action.i didnt use the service after 1 mth and they send me 3 mnths bill.they send some private collection officer to my home.i was not at home at the time, and wen i get to knw this,i was shocked
.what the hell are they doin.is maxis acting like a loan shark under the name of crust management?i reali dont get it wen thise guy called and was talkin shit for my outsandin of rm167.sendin private sms to my number.wen i called maxis, they are not sure about this issue.well what is reali going on?
Me too.. Got this DAMN problem with MAXIS. Really disappointed with MAXIS !!!. I have been a loyal customer to MAXIS for almost 17 years. All these years I have been cheated with expensive data charges without my knowledge. One day I bill charges go sky high and I made a complaint and the customer care sms me that my problem has been resolved. So I am happy and thought that I wait for my next bill to see if my problem really has been resolved. But I was SHOCKED when received by bill with whooping more that RM600++ and try to call them and my line was barred simply because my last bill was not paid. I have now stop MAXIS & go for DIGI. Today, I received a lawyer letter from MAXIS threatening me. What shall I do ??
MAXIS LOUSY SERVICE. SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY HAVE TO ASK PEOPLE TO PAY UP LIKE WE OWE THEM THOUSANDS??!
CREST MANAGEMENT SDN BHD? GO TO HELL.
