Bark of Love. |
March 11, 2010 |
Good day folks. I received an email from a reader,a very heart warming one with a message that sort of stated that I was the reason why she started looking up on architecture which is something I appreciate a lot; knowing that the bits and pieces of the things I share about has reached some level where it sort of influenced you in some way. She’s not easily impressed and inspired, and she also said that this blog is one of a kind.
Anyway,I had a pretty emotional moment watching Marley & Me (for the third time!) after dinner. No its not gonna be a movie review but just a couple of scenes in the movie where Marley laid his chin on Jennifer’s lap when she had a miscarriage sort of reflected how animals; to be more precise in this case, dogs have a strange bond with humans.
Grabbed this line from the movie,
A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes.
A water log stick will do just fine.
A dog doesn’t care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb.
Give him your heart and he’ll give you his.
How many people can you say that about?
How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special?
How many people can make you feel extraordinary?
Well if you’ve been reading long enough, I have a dog. Its a pomeranian that goes by the name Brownie, but he’s usually called Brownthepom. Have used that name so often that Brownthepom is now on top of the Google search list.
Some say that all dogs only have one master, one master whom he listens to most; and I’m proudly claiming that I am the master!
Well, continue reading then you’ll know why we have that very special bond. I know how different people takes toy dogs differently, some for amusement wtf, some for their adorable looks, some for random reasons like how they’ve seen the same breed on TV and some out of fate.
In August 2005, which was during the end of my high school period when things were all so chaotic; my dad actually brought me to the pet shop to choose a dog to give me a sense of responsibility for someone/something else and to give me something else to love at home.
Well,I was quite a different person back then; so I agreed to go with him. As I walked into the shop, I saw this overly excited and hyper little puppy of two months old with his sister(considered twins right?).
Brownthepom was banging his head or more like thick skull against the glassbox; going “bong, bong, bong!” literally.
In my mind I was like, whats that crazy fluffy animal doing wtf. Then as I approached it,it went on to bang his head even harder and quicker than before. Running from the left to the right corner then chasing my fingers as I moved my fingers around it.
As far as I remembered,Brownthepom was at the size of a loaf of bread! I knew from that moment when we had our first body contact wtf that sounded wrong but we sort of have this connection that we belong together. So apparently my dad’s plans worked. Over the years I’ve developed so much love for my dog that sometimes I think I talk to him most when I’m home.
I could still recall this incident in November 2005 when my parents had this huge argument, but since things were so tensed at home; and I didn’t want to further complicate the situation with my brothers; walked out to the porch and sat down. Then Brownthepom walked over with his tiny paws slowly, then I picked him up in my arms like a baby. I was crying,so upset but I knew its best that I just kept that to myself.
Then I spoke to Brownthepom (its not like he can reply wtf), telling him that I’m very sad that things are like shit. As the tears started rolling down my cheeks,he reached out for my cheeks and licked the tears away. No he’s not running low on salt wtf, but it was that moment when I realized that when all else fails and I need a listener; he’ll always be there.
Brownthepom had gotten lost once, and it was this blog who helped me to get him back. The message spreaded like wildfire over my neighbourhood and I found my dog! What are the odds of losing an adorable dog,and having people calling you up that they’ve found him? I drove 9 hours around my housing area driving at 20km/h using up 1/2 tank of my petrol searching high and low for him. The Keeper helped out too of course, where we walked by foot at 1-2am in the morning behind back alleys in case Brownthepom was hiding somewhere.
I knew that god must have been watching over both of us. ![]()
He’s gonna be five years old come June this year. Dogs will always love you and they don’t hold grudges. I hope this would inspire you to walk up to your dog and love them more because you’ll never know how much you love till you lose.
Gotta run off to class now!
